JI warns the govt of people’ rage, if such cruel and stupid policies are continued

KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi chief Engr. Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has strictly condemned the recent hike in the tariff of petroleum products in general and the excessive rise of 63 percent in the natural gas prices in particular.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Engr Naeem said that instead of blindly following the dictation by the International Monitory Fund (IMF), the premier of the country should take pity on Pakistani citizens.

It is pertinent to mention here that the government has announced up to 63 percent rise in the prices of natural gas for consumers, as per the condition of the IMF for release of another tranche of funds.

He lambasted the ruling regime and said that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) always pretends to be people friendly, however the government has been continuously proven as anti-people.

He said that the assets of the PML-N leadership has been multiplying since it came into power, however the Sharif brothers and relatives led party has been pushing the already inflation stricken nation towards extreme of poverty through excessive tax culture.

Naeem said that an acute unrest and sense of insecurity has been prevailing among masses and such measures of imposing extreme rate of taxation are fuelling the fire that would ultimately result in anarchy in the society. He warned that government that if such stupid polices are continued, none could protect the rulers from the rage of masses.

Talking about the rate of petroleum products, he further said that the government illogically increased taxation on the products when the PoL prices were touching the new lows in the international market, just to deprive masses of the due relief.

He said that through such cruel measures, the government has managed to theft Rs10billion to Rs12billions from the already shrinking earnings of people.
