’Jobs to youth priority of govt’

KARACHI: Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui on Tuesday said first priority of the government was providing employment to youth, therefore more 60 youngsters from Lyari were being skilled with leather training course, who would very soon get employed.

“The youth of Lyari have got talent which needs grooming,” he said while addressing the 25th meeting of Placement Bureau at his office.

Secretary Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Human Resource & Development Board Kareem Bukhsh Siddiqui, Additional Deputy Commissioner II West Muhammed Mateen, Zahid Hussain Memon from district East, Ghulam Farooq from district Central, Assistant Commissioner Malir Sahar Iftikhar, Assistant Commissioner General Karachi Shahzaib Sheikh, Joint Director Industries Department Abdul Rasheed and representatives of Landhi Association of Trade & Industry, Korangi Association of Trade & Industry and Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industries were also present on the occasion.

The commissioner revealed that an agreement would be signed with Association of Builders & Developers of Pakistan (ABAD) which would provide more opportunities to youth for employment.

“Providing employment to people specially youth is a part of public friendly policy of the government. Just like on the directives of the government the administration is providing relief to the masses by practically resolving their issues and complaints. The complete administration of the city is busy in ensuring implementation of public policy of the government,” he said.
