Karachi: The employees of Neurosurgery Department, Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Centre (JPMC), on Monday staged a protest demonstration and sit-in outside Director JPMC Office for non-issuance of their pay-slip from last three years.
Over 60 employees of Neurosurgery JPMC from grade 1 to 15 joined the protest against JPMC administration and account officer over their bureaucratic hurdles in issuance of their pay-slips despite the fact these employees were regularized in 2011 and deprived of annual increment.
The protesters were carrying banners and placards inscribed with different slogans like issuance of pay-slips, release of annual increment of employees, removal of incompetent account officer and emergency allowance of staff.
The protesters were led by Ameer Ali Dinari, Raees Ahmed, Amjad, Abdul Wahab, Aftab and Amjad Khan.
President Neurosurgery Employees Action Committee Ameer Ali Dinari talking the mediamen said around 104 employees of neurosurgery department were deliberately deprived of pay-slips since 2011 by the account section of hospital without any reason. He said employees were also deprived of annual increment and emergency allowances since regularization.
He said employees contacted with AG and Sindh government to know the actual reason behind the stoppage of their pay-slips. He claimed that doctors and nurses of neurosurgery JPMC are receiving their salaries on pay-slips but unfortunately lower grad staff deprived them of those pay-slip and annual increment. He announced the employees would continue their protest till acceptance of their demands.
He demanded of the provincial health minister and other high-ups to resolve the issue of employees, otherwise they would enlarge the protest.
