K-Electric Football Club qualify for AFC Cup 2016

KARACHI: K-Electric issued a press statement in which the company stated that K-Electric Football Club had qualified for AFC Cup 2016.

The statement further added that KE team had beaten Mangolia’s Khorom Khon FC in their last game to earn the vital points to take the lead in the group. However, KE team was reliant on the game between Druk United and Khoromkhon FC to know their fate in Asian football’s second-tier club tournament. With the draw between Druk United and Khoromkhon FC last night, Team KE reserved their place in the Asian Federation Cup to be held in 2016. Team KE led the qualifying group with 4 points followed by Bhutan with 2 and Mangolia managing to score only 1.

Majid Shafiq, KE Football Club, Coach said, ‘The goal when I took over the coaching job was not only to take the team into the AFC Cup but to change the culture within Pakistani football by taking steps off the field as well, right now I am proud to say that all these efforts have shown the result and we are amped up for the AFC Cup in January 2016′.

K-Electric FC’s President and Chief of Marketing K-Electric, Usama Qureshi at this joyous occasion commented, ‘K-Electric has always valued sports in Pakistan and actively participated in various sporting events to show its dedication. After winning the Pakistan Premier League, our goal was right in front of us, which was to qualify for Asian Federation Cup. I am delighted that our goal has been achieved today.
