Karachi: Karachi Inter Board cricket team became the first to qualify for final of All Pakistan Inter Board T20 Cricket Championship after they beat BISE Faisalabad by 34 runs here at RLCA Gulberg ground on Thursday.
Batting first, Karachi Intermediate Board team piled up 157 for 7 in allotted 20 overs. Arsalan Bashir played a brilliant knock of 62 while Fahaddis Bukhari scored a spirited 46. Atif Khan took four wickets for 25 runs in four overs.
In reply BISE Faisalabad were all out for 123 runs on Board. Abdul Samad and Mohammad Navaid batted well scoring 36 and 25 runs respectively.
KIB will now meet the winners of the second semifinal in the final to be played at Karachi Gymkhana on Monday.
Meanwhile, BISE Bannu beat Mirpurkhas by 65 runs to qualify for the semifinals.
In another quarterfinal encounter played at Asghar Ali Shah Stadium, BISE Multan defeated Swat Board by by 58 runs.
Meanwhile, a protest was been lodged in the fourth match of the day, which was played between ISE Peshawar and Hyderabad at Asghar Ali Shah Stadium. The organizers have deferred the announcement of the result of the match to further investigate into the matter before reaching a decision.
