Karachi police arrest five accused

KARACHI: Karachi police on Thursday apprehended five alleged accused, including police constable, political and religious party activists, recovered weapon and 70 kilogram high quality of marijuana from their possession.

According to detail, FB Industrial area police, while conducting raid in block 21 and 22, arrested two accused belonging to political and religious parties and recovered weapon from their possession. Station House Officer (SHO) Naeem Khan said the accused was identified as Faraz and Javed, and were arrested from block 21 and 22. He said arrested accused Faraz belong to Liaquatabad sector of political party and he, during interrogation, committed his involvement in robbery, looting jewellery from shops. However, the accused Javed who belong to religious party was involved in extortion.

On the other side, Kalri police, while conducting operation in Mauripur road, recovered 70 kilogram marijuana from the taxi no JL-8353 and arrested taxi driver Faisal.

SHO Rashid Khan said that on a tip-off, a police party conducted a raid on suspected taxi and recovered 70 kilogram of marijuana from secret boxes of the car. The accused disclosed that he was getting marijuana from Mauripur.

Saddar police conducted a raid in Bazerta Line and arrested an accused in injured condition and recovered one TT pistol from his possession, while his accomplice managed to escape.

SHO Mohammad Tufail said that the accused was involved in snatching cash from the persons who come to banks for transaction. He said the accused was sacked in 1991 from the police department, so many times he had been arrested. He said further interrogation was underway.

In another action, New Town police conducted a raid near Shareefabad and arrested an accused who was absconding from Shah Faisal police station.
