KASBIT and Iqra University students win prizes

KARACHI: The students of KASBIT and Iqra University, Karachi M Salman, Isra Saleem and Talha Anwar respectively won first, second and third positions at All Karachi Inter Universities Debate, held at Mohammad Ali Jinnah University, Karachi auditorium.

In all, 30 students of 17 universities and colleges participated in the debate. Chairman, Political Science Department, Karachi University, Prof Dr Mehmood Ahmed Qadri was the chief guest on this occasion, while Dean, Business Administration, MA Jinnah University, Karachi Prof Dr Shafiqur Rehman presided over the session.

The leader of the house Hafiza Romana presented the resolution we are free nation which was opposed by leader of opposition Shaista Saleem. After listening of 15-15 debaters from each side, the house voted in favour of resolution with overwhelming majority. Prominent debater, Raheel Ather and TV anchor Abdullah were the Judges of the debate competition.

The universities and colleges participated in All Karachi Inter Universities debate were Karachi University, NED University of Engineering and Technology, Baqai Medical, Hamdard , Preston, Suparco, Iqra, Numal, Benazeer Bhutto, Dow, Dada Bhoy, KASBIT and APWA & BAMM Degree colleges.

The organizing committee comprised Syed Ghazanfar Inam, Saad Hamid Usmani, Abdul Wahab and Syed Mohammad Mujtuba.
