KARACHI: The Kashmir Solidarity Day was observed across Sindh on Thursday, with the demand of urgent implementation of the UN resolutions to allow Kashmiris to determine their fate through a plebiscite.
Kashmir Solidarity Day, or Kashmir Day, is observed by Kashmiris and Pakistanis in whole world on 5 February each year, to renew the pledge of support and unity with the people of Indian-held Kashmir, their ongoing freedom struggle, and to pay homage to Kashmiri martyrs who lost their lives fighting the occupation army for Kashmir’s freedom.
Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Sindh chapter organized rallies, seminars, discussions and meetings on the day in different cities of Sindh province, including Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Mirpurkhas, Larkana, Jacobabad, Nawabshah, Tando Muhammed Khan, Badin and Thatta to express solidarity with the Kashmiri brethren.
While addressing a “Kashmir Solidarity Rally”, organized by JI Karachi chapter from Jail Chowrangi to Mazar-e-Quaid in Karachi, General Secretary JI Pakistan Liaquat Baloch demanded of the Pakistani government to restore unanimous Kashmir Policy and take a firm stance over resolving the Kashmir Issue, adding that people of Kashmir should get their due right in order to exercise their right of self-determination.
A large number of participants including men, youth, women and children attended the rally. The protestors raised placards, banners and posters inscribed with slogans ‘Go-down with India’, ‘Tehreek-e-Azadi-e-Kashmir Zindabad’, ‘Kashmir to become Pakistan’, ‘Islamic revolution is to come’, ‘Implement UN resolutions over Kashmir issue’, ‘Kashmir is the lifeline of Pakistan’, ‘End illegal occupation of India on Kashmir’, ‘Defeat is the fate of India in held-Kashmir’.
On this occasion, Supreme Commander of Hizbul Mujahideen Syed Salahuddin said that ‘Jihad’ was the only solution to the Kashmir issue, as India only understands the language of conflict. “With the help of Almighty Allah, we will compel India to leave the occupied-Kashmir”, he asserted.
Salahuddin said India had deployed 0.8 million army across the held-Kashmir for crushing the birthright of Kashmiris – freedom, adding that the people in held-Kashmir are enthusiastic for getting their due rights despite dual standards of world powers and United Nations.
Naib Ameer JI Pakistan Asadullah Bhutto while addressing a Kashmir rally in Tando Muhammed Khan said the night of brutality and horror was about to end in the held-Kashmir. The Kashmir issue had been requiring resolution for the past 67 years due to Indian obduracy and American patronizing against the rights of people of Kashmir, he said.
“Hypocrisy of United States (US) and United Nations (UN) has been uncovered after Eastern Taimur and Southern Sudan were separated from Muslim states as a result of resolutions passed by UN, while the UN resolutions on Kashmir are put on the back burner,” he said.
He said despite immense atrocities carried out by India in Kashmir, the world was not ready to raise voice against India. More pathetically, the US adding insult to the injuries for Kashmiris was discussing to make India a permanent member of Security Council, he said.
Bhutto said India had failed to suppress avidity of Kashmiris for freedom, even after putting millions of Kashmiris in jail, martyring thousands of people and dishonoring mothers and sisters.
“Insha Allah, the day is not far away when the sun of independence would rise over Kashmir and Indian occupation would end for good,” he said.
Ameer JI Sindh Dr Meraj-ul-Huda while addressing Kashmir Solidarity Rally in Hyderabad asked if the people of Scotland can get the right for self-determination why not Kashmiris. The double standards of UN have been exposed to the world. The resoluteness of Kashmiris has increased more than before.
“Prime Minister Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif seemed determined to sell Kashmir for trade of potatoes and onions, while Pakistani people stand by Kashmir to complete the country. Cruelty of Indian force is further strengthening the struggle of Kashmir,” he opined.
He said if Modi government wanted to strengthen trade ties with Pakistan then the Kashmir issue should be resolved. The green crescent flag of Pakistan would soon be hoisted on the skyline of Srinagar, he said.
Naib Ameer JI Pakistan Rashid Nasim while addressing a rally in Sukkur said numbness and disloyalty of Pakistani leaders had dealt the Kashmir issue an irreparable loss. However, even so India could not enslave the Kashmiris.
“Indian hegemony has failed to erode Pakistan’s love from the Kashmiris’ hearts, despite carrying out atrocities for over half a century,” he said.
Naib Ameer JI Sindh Muhammed Hussain Mehanti while addressing a Kashmir rally in Mirpurkhas said Pakistani citizens have always been with Kashmiris in every difficult time. The Pakistani government should highlight the atrocities of India on the innocent people of Kashmir.
Ameer JI Thatta chapter Altaf Mallah while addressing a rally in Thatta said Kashmiri people were not ready to accept Indian rule on their land. He asked from all the nationalists including Sindhi nationalists that this was the issue on which all parties should join their hands so that to support the voice of Kashmiris.
