Key posts at Directorate of Nursing could still not be filled

KARACHI: The posts of director and two deputy directors nursing are lying vacant in Directorate of Nursing since past few months that have affected the administrative affairs, it was learned on Tuesday.

Sources at Directorate of Nursing Sindh, wished not be named, informed that three major posts, including director and two deputy directors nursing, were also causing serious inconvenience to staff and students.

They said Director Directorate of Nursing Talat Shah had retired from her post in December 2014, while deputy director education and deputy director services were removed from their posts on order of apex court in May 2014. They informed that all three major are are lying vacant.

The dozens of employees of Sindh Nursing Examination Board have not received their salaries for the month of January so far due to non-signature of director on their pay slips. The employees have showed their concern over non-appointment of director on vacant post.

They said similarly, hundreds of male and female students, who applied for diploma certificates, were also facing inconvenience due to non-filling of those posts. director and deputy directors on vacant posts. The nursing students belonging to interior Sindh were facing great difficulties in getting their diploma certificates.

The students, who applied for jobs in public and private sector hospitals, were also facing hardships over non-issuance of their diploma certificates as they were regularly visiting the Directorate of Nursing since last several weeks.

Assistant Nursing Director in Directorate Nursing Sindh Khair-un-Nisa, when contacted, said appointment of director and deputy directors on vacant posts was under process and hoped that vacant seats would be filled soon.
