Peshawar: The PPP provincial president Khanzada Khan claimed this in a press conference here at Press Club on Wednesday.
Congratulating the workers and allies for winning by-elections in Dir Upper, he claimed PPP would win elections in future with the active support of his party’s workers.
“Our workers are awakened and have shunned their differences and once they forge unity among their ranks, no party can win elections from us,” Khanzada said.
Flanked by the former president Rahimdad Khan and former minister, Liaquat Shabab, he paid tribute to the services of ANP, JUI-F, PML-N and those disappointed workers of PTI for supporting PPP nominee Sahibzada Sanaullah in by-election.
He said the PTI workers in district Dir also realized the double standard of their provincial government and remembered the PPP’s previous government services for their areas.
By taking active part in by-elections in those mountainous areas, he said the PPP workers proved that the party was alive and nobody could eliminate it.
In the previous elections, he confessed that the party’s workers had grievances and that was why they had not taken active role. But now, he said, the workers have realized it and once they give up their differences no party could face them.
Regarding intra party elections and differences in provincial chapter, Khanzada said that he was nominated by the party’s co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari despite the fact he never tried for it.
He said he was ready to leave the office for others. He rejected the existence of any dissident group saying the party was very much united and they were ready to sit with any one if any.
“We all are united and work together. We have already decided to hold intra party elections within five districts,” he said adding: “Sometime media make issues without any truth in the press.”
Former minister for Excise, Liaquat Shabab thanked allies for their support saying the PPP has majority and vote bank but it always been deprived of its rights through various conspiracies. He said they accepted elections 2013 results only for democracy.
Shabab recalled that the PPP won Chitral election under the Khanzada Khan’s president ship claiming that the party was united now. He said the workers had genuine grievances but those would be removed now. He was not agreed with a questioner who pointed that the PPP ministers were not available to workers during the government.
He said he was facing accountability only for giving jobs to the workers recalling the PPP had always provided jobs to people during its government and would commit this crime if this is a crime.
It is also worth mentioning that the PPP also secured district nazim slots in Malakand Agency and district Lakki Marwat in the recent local bodies elections.
