Khawaja Asif attend 3rd Moscow conference

Islamabad :,,, Federal Minister for Defence Khawaja Mohammad Asif who on a three day official visit to Russia attended the 3rd Moscow Conference on International Security on special invitation from Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation Army General Sergei Shoigu.

At present considering the attention of the world country on crisis regions, the importance of both Russia and Pakistan is significant.

Pakistan strongly believes in the policy of non-interference and peaceful coexistence with neighbouring countries and therefore the conduction of peaceful elections is Afghanistan is testimony to this.

“We have lost lives, suffered monetarily but are determined to the cause of peace”, said Minister for Defence Khawaja Mohammad Asif.

In the opening address by the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation he said that in the past years progress has been achieved for peaceful resolution of some most dangerous crisis situations and Russian Federation along with foreign partners actively contributed to the consolidation of overall efforts in settlement of situations in Middle East and North America.

Minister on the occasion added that Pakistan is fully cognizant of its role in the region and efforts are made to yield tangible results in stabilizing it. The necessity is to have regular exchanges of opinion, joint objective analysis.

The Conference proved fruitful in the existing security scenario with hopes of a positive and workable roadmap for future.
