KARACHI: Sindh Senior Minister for Education and Literacy Nisar Ahmad Khuhro said on Thursday that education system in Sindh would be revived at any cost because without quality education, progress and prosperity was not possible.
He was talking to media after distributing uniforms, books and shoes in 200 deserved students of nursery and primary classes in NJV Government Primary School. He said that teachers shortage was being met in the province and for this purpose, appointment process of around 20000 teachers was underway.
He said that monitoring system for insuring teachers attendance was also being improved.
To a question, he said that education department had removed all OPS officers forthwith after the Supreme Court order while other department was also taking steps in this regard.
Replying to another query, he said that action would be taken against those elements involved in missing of 160 examination papers from matriculation board Karachi.
Earlier, addressing the books, uniform and shoes distribution ceremony, he said that every government school in the province had School Management Committee (SMC) which could solve all problems of schools.
He urged chairmen of MSCs to come forward and approached him and as well as philanthropists for solving small issues in schools such as lack of fans, absence of water cooler and providing books and uniforms to needy children.
He urged teachers to honestly perform their duty and help government to uplift education standard in the province.
