KMC administrator for boosting education sector

KARACHI: Administrator Karachi Rauf Akhter Farooqui on Thursday said Karachi Metropolitan Corporation had initiated drastic measures to bring improvement in its largest sector, the education department.

“These steps, though, have made many persons angry but we will continue our work for betterment in the education sector. When the standard of education is raised in the KMC schools, this would be our top most responsibility to solve the genuine problems faced by teachers,” he said while addressing teachers of primary, elementary and secondary girls and model schools in the Z A Nizamai Hall of Civic Centre.

Advisor to KMC Administrator Brig (R) AS Nasir, Director Schools Jamil Farooqui and Sunbul Qureishi also spoke on this occasion.

Farooqui said it was not possible for a single director to give better results while managing the affairs of 700 schools and thousands of employees, therefore, the education department had been divided into four parts and this was expected to give better results.

He further said that this decision was taken after much consideration, as it was necessary to split the department into four sections. He said the teachers had a greater status than the administrative officials. They also have greater responsibilities on their shoulders.

He urged the teachers to work hard for their students and make them better humans.
