KMC kicks off fumigation drive

Karachi: Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) on the directives of Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has started fumigation campaign in 18 Zones of six districts of Karachi in phases to prevent citizens from malaria and dengue diseases.

KMC’s Senior Director Health Municipal Services Masood Alam, Director Fumigation Dr Mansoor Sheikh and Focal Person Dr Hamid Mustafa along with fumigation escort has started special spray drive in District Municipal Corporation(DMC) South to prevent malaria and dengue.

The fumigation drive carried under supervision Administrator DMC South Afzal Zaidi and Municipal Commissioner Muhammad Raisi in Lyari Zone DMC South.

Deputy Director Health Munawar Parwaiz Bhatti has started the fumigation drive in Lyari Zone DMC South. The fumigation vehicles have been dispatched in all the Union Councils of Lyari Zone under the supervision of sanitation staff. The fumigation carried out in near drains and low lying areas.

As per the announcement of Fumigation Health, 24 rounds of fumigation drive had been completed in city and around 30 spray vehicles are being used for fumigation in every zone. It said special fumigation drive is being carried in major hospitals of Karachi.
