Peshawar: Prof. Dr. Mohammad Hafizullah Vice Chancellor Khyber Medical University (KMU) Peshawar has said that in the face of numerous emerging challenges, growing stakeholder’s expectations and changing trends in Human Resources (HR) the universities have to transform its HR practices according to the international standards.
He was talking to the inaugural session of a 03 days capacity building workshop on Human Resource Management, Office Automation and Effective Communication Skills for the administrative staff of KMU at IBMS campus Hayatabad Peshawar.
Besides others Dr. Fazal Mahmood Registrar, Dr. Shad Mohammad Director Academics and Mr. Gul Azad Khan Treasurer were also present at the occasion. The main objective of this three day workshop was to build capacity of the employees and to ensure optimal output in line with overall objectives of the university. All mid-career level Officers of the university, i.e. Deputy Directors, Assistant Directors, Office Managers, and Superintendents & Office Assistants were the participants of this workshop.
Prof. Dr. Mohammad Hafizullah congratulated the organizers especially the major resource person and coordinator of the workshop Mr. Hafiz Ahmad Dy. Registrar of the university by convening such an effective workshop for capacity building of the university employees.
He said a service structure for all cadres of the university is in progress and a board based committee comprising of the HR experts has been constituted for that matter. Whenever the committee will finalized the draft recommendations it would be put on the agenda of the relevant forums for final approval, he added.
He further said that regular training for staff of all levels is the need of the hour and without proper training one could not be able to meet the challenges of the day. While stressing upon honesty he said that, honesty is the key of success and satisfaction, therefore we should carried out tasks with full honesty and dedication.
He said we should go for quality and merit a health care management system (Health Insurance Scheme) will be introduced for better health services of the university employees.
Later on Mr. Syed Hafeez Ahmad Dy. Registrar delivered a detailed presentation on Human Resource Management & Changing Trends and Dr. Jamil Ahmad Director QEC made deliberation on Communication Skills. Both the presentations were followed by question and answers sessions.
