KP CM increases the amount of emergency medicines to needy and poor patients

Peshawar: On the directives of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the provincial government has increased the amount to Rs. 1.2 billion for the provision of emergency medicines to needy and poor patients during this year 2015-16.

According to details, the provincial government had allocated Rs. One billion for emergency medicines to be used for needy and poor during the last year 2014-15. While this year 2015-16, the amount has been increased to Rs. 1.2 billion for which PC-I is in process.

Moreover, to cater the immediate needs an amount of Rs. 150 million has been released to all DHQs and four big hospitals for emergency medicines in casualty from pro- poor initiatives.

Directorate and Teaching Hospitals have been directed to immediately complete formalities and to ensure availability of medicines, says a press release issued here by the Health Department Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
