KP: (Four militants killed in terrorist attack at Bacha Khan University)

ISLAMABAD: Security forces have killed four terrorists in an operation going on at Bacha Khan University Charsadda.

According to ISPR, snipers of Pakistan Army killed the terrorists by containing them in two blocks. DG ISPR Lieutenant General Asam Bajwa said the troops have taken over all buildings and rooftops in the university.

He said the operation against terrorists is continuing block by block to clear the university and no firing is being heard. He said air surveillance of the operation is being carried out. Emergency has been declared at all hospitals in Charsadda, Mardan and Peshawar.

It may be added that terrorists launched attack on Bacha Khan University in Charsadda Wednesday morning when a Mushaira was in progress in connection with death anniversary of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan.

A Professor of the university has been martyred while fifty students have been rescued so far. Ten people including students have also been injured.

Meanwhile, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervaiz Rashid has said that terrorist attack anywhere is an attack on the country. Responding to points raised by Leader of the Opposition Syed Khurshid Shah and Shaikh Rashid Ahmad in the National Assembly about attack on the Charsadda University, the Minister said the federal government is in contact with the provincial government to gather necessary information and extend necessary cooperation.
