KP Government announced 3 day mourning

Peshawar: Expressing deep grief and anguish over the inhuman and dastard act of terrorism at Bacha Khan University in Charsadda district on Tuesday in which scores of innocent people lost their precious lives and others received injuries, a spokesman of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government has announced mourning for three days all over the province adding that Flag would be hoisted on half-mast on all government buildings.

In a handout the spokesman said Quran Khwani will be held for eternal peace of the martyrs and early recovery of the injured. Prayers would also be held for restoration of peace all over the country.

While commending the role of University Guards and local police that helped in containing the damage to the possible minimum a level spokesman added the local population demonstrated bravery and come out with their personal weapons and brought the terrorists out. PTI President and Nazim Charsadda also included among these brave local people. He also praised the martyred Professor for his bravery in fighting the terrorists.

He said the police and Pak Army contingents reached the spot within 55 minutes of the attack despite dense fog and minimum visibility. Chairman Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf Imran Khan also reached the spot and expressed solidarity with the students faculty members of the university administration and the local people.

The Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, who also visited the university, monitored the situation all the day and kept on informing the PTI Chairman about the updates.

The spokesman revealed the Chief Minister who is on visit of UK has postponed his engagement abroad and was arriving immediately. He said educational institutions which number about 64000/- has their own security arrangement and police act as rapid response force.
