Peshawar: The Provincial Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday approved handsome package for the doctors to perform their duties in hard remote and backward areas of the province.
The decision was made during provincial cabinet meeting that held with Chief Minister Pervez Khattak in the chair. According to the decision province has been divided in three categories A, B, and C.
The decision was made after considering that package of those doctors who are performing in big cities are getting the same packages that is for the doctors performing in the hard areas and there was no big incentives for the doctors to perform in hard areas.
In category A, Abbottabad and Peshawar are included whereas in category B includes Nowshera, Swat, Kohat, Mardan, Bannu, Charsadda, D.I.Khan, Dir lower, Haripur, Malakand and Swabi while category C includes Bunir, Batagram, Chitral, Dir Upper, Hangu, Karak, Kohistan, Laki Marwat, Shangla, Tank and Torgar.
For those areas heal professional allowance would be increased up the maximum and for Radiology, Theology and Anaesthesia the district specialist allowance for category A would be 80 thousands, for category -B this allowance would be one lakh and for category-C one hundred forty thousands. It has also been decided that western route of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would be used as platform for the export promotion.
For medicine, cardiology and surgery the specialist allowance would for category-A Rs 60 thousands for category-B areas this allowances would be Rs 80 thousands and for Category-C this allowance would be Rs 100000.
For dental surgeon and medical officers which were getting Rs 15000 allowance, now will get Rs42 thousands and 52 thousands in Category A areas, while Rs 62 thousands in urban areas of Category-B and Rs 72 thousands in rural areas of category –B. Similarly in urban areas of Category-C will get Rs 82 thousands and Rs 92 thousands in rural areas of C-category.
Health Managers the allowance in category-A areas will be Rs 56 thousands, and Rs 76 thousands for category-B areas and RS 96 thousands for Category-C areas. After the announcement of new allowances the previous hard area and special allowances would be considered as cancelled. Government would spend Rs 4 billion on the special allowances packages.
Government has also approved new industrial policy according to which new industrial zones would be established in the backward areas to generate maximum employment opportunities. Also stress has been given on hydro power projects as the province has the capacity to generate up to 24000 MW. According to the new policy infrastructure would be developed and technical education providing institutions would be further improved.
