KPC, PILER leaders grieved at PR Patil’s demise

KARACHI: The Karachi Press Club and the Pakistan Institute of Labour Education and Research (PIER) have condoled the demise of RR Patil, a senior leader of Nationalist Congress Party and a former Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister of Maharashtra, India, who passed away in a hospital in Mumbai on Monday.

In a joint statement issued here on Wednesday, KPC President Fazil Jameeli and PILER Executive Director Karamat Ali expressed grief and sorrow over death of the peace-loving politician of India, who had a great intimacy with Pakistani people. When a media delegation from KPC visited Mumbai and Pune, Patil had personally ensured security arrangements and accorded them the status of ‘state guest’.

They expressed sympathies with the bereaved family and prayed to have a strength to bear this loss. They also prayed for his soul rest in eternal peace.
