KU reviews security measures

KARACHI: University of Karachi’s Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mohammad Qaiser on Thursday held a high level meeting with law enforcement officials on security concerns in the university.

The meeting was presided over by VC at the university’s premises. It was attended by Campus Security Advisor Dr Mohammad Zubair, SSP District East Javed Jaskani, Gulshan-e-Iqbal’s SP Dr Fahad Ahmed and Major Saleem from Special Security Unit. The security conditions of the country particularity of Karachi were discussed. Several measures were proposed on receiving of threats and security reports.

In the meeting, it was also decided that awareness programs should be organized for students, faculty members, and employees to avert an emergency circumstances and ensure self-defense. It was informed in the meeting that the private security guards will be hired while five walkthrought gates will be installed.
