KWSB disconnects over 60 illegal links

KARACHI: On the directives of Chairman Karachi Water & Sewerage Board (KWSB) Sharjeel Inam Memon, KWSB has disconnected over 60 illegal water connections to save 25mgd water to the city, which has made supply better to Baldia Town, Orangi Town, North Karachi and adjacent areas.

A KWSB team led by Superintending Engineer Sikandar Zardari dismantled over 60 illegal connections from 48 inch diameter water line with the help of heavy machinery from North East Karachi Pumping House and North East Pumping House (old).

The operation against illegal water connections was carried out in presence of Sindh rangers and police. The holes made into the pipe line were also sealed by welding, which has saved 25mgd water to better the supply to the adjacent areas of the pumping houses.
