KARACHI: Karachi Water & Sewerage Board (KWSB) revenue department has increased nine percent in water tariff since July 2015 as per permission by the Sindh government for maximum increase of nine percent in a year.
Senior Director Revenue KWSB Javed Shamim said despite the increase KWSB was billing 50 percent of water supply bills.
“Monthly expenditures of KWSB are up to Rs115 million, while monthly bill for water is about Rs780 million which will become Rs850 million after the increase,” he said.
He said the consumers would pay the difference of July’s bill in August’s bill.
Meanwhile, the senior director revenue also congratulated directors of retail billing, deputy directors and inspectors for making record recovery of over Rs185 million and hoped that they would continue the same hard work and dedication to achieve next recovery target.
In a review meeting with revenue directors, he announced certificates of honour for the staff to encourage them.
