KWSB to sell unusable machinery, material

Karachi: Karachi Water & Sewerage Board KWSB has directed to invite tenders in order to sell out unusable scrap including irreparable vehicles, machinery, used oil and other useless material.

Managing Director Karachi Water & Sewerage Board has formulated a committee appointing Chief Engineer Bulk Iftikhar Ahmed as Convener and Chief Engineer IRP Javed Shamim as Secretary. Whereas, the members comprise of Chief Engineer Electrical & Mechanical Zaheer Abbass Zaidi, Chief Engineer IPD Abdur Rehman Khatti, Chief Engineer E&M K4 Project Asadullah Khan, Chief Engineer District East Ghulam Qadir, Superintendent Engineer Design Saifuddin, Director CRC Wajid Iqbal, Resident Engineer Dhabeji, Intikhab Rajput, Director Accounts Imran Zaidi, Executive Engineer Design Arshad Warsi, Accounts Officer Turab and Executive Engineer Stores and Purchase Abdul Qadir Khan.

The committee would scrutinize the procedure ensuring clear processing. The committee would also be responsible for logging the material collected from all offices. Through an inspection survey the committee would also ensure that the material collected for sale inside or outside the city is scrap and non-usable.

The revenue generated through the sale of scrap material would be used for the betterment of the water supply and sewerage system in the city ensuring better facilities to the citizens of Karachi.
