Peshawar: Member of Rabta Committee, Khushal Youth Organization (KYO) on Thursday has demanded of Chairman Pakistan Tehrek-e-Insaf Imran Khan and Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Parvaiz Khattak to make an inquiry regarding allegedly irregularities and merit violation in Khushal Khan Khattak (KKK) University Karak.
“Since 2012 a single vacant post of the university did not advertise in any newspaper while only politically backed and blue-eyed persons appointed on that posts” Ijaz Ali Khan, member rabta committee KYO alleged during a press conference at press club.
Recently in 2015 the KKK university, he said had announced an advertisement of vacant posts but the Personal Secretary (PS) post to Vice Chancellor was in mentioned in the advertisement. He further alleged that the person who already worked on PS post was a blue-eyed and might be made permanent without any competition.
“We have collected data through Right to Information (RTI) Act which reveals that certain high level officials do not have their joining date in the record including the post of Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Treasure, Professors, Assistant Professors, Lecturer, Office Superintendent and others” said Ijaz.
Flanked by Waqas Ahamd Shaheen Khattak and Majid Mumtaz, he said that RTI data also showed that almost all the hired employees of various grade including Basic Pay Scale (BPS) 17 and 18 were working on fixed pay for the past three years.
“If the higher administrative authority is giving extension to these employees since 2012 then it is clear violation of merit and rights of the eligible candidates who are waiting for job advertisement since 2015” he asked.
“A person from education department is on deputation and working on two posts as media incharge and also lecturer in Media Studies department” he blamed.
Similarly, he alleged that lecturers were inducted in Geology department without newspaper advertisement and a retired professor was hired by the KKK University just for running the Geology department.
He appealed to provincial minister for Higher Education and Information Mushtaq Ghani, PTI chairman and Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to make an investigation regarding the university staff recruitment.
