Peshawar: Two Allied Force supplier drivers were killed and one other sustained bullets injuries in militants offence that took place here in Wazir Dandh area of tehsil Jmarud,sub-division of Khyber Agency, official sources informed on Monday.
The sources said, Nato supply convoy was en-route to Torkham border from Peshawar when it was intercepted and surrounded by 30-40 militants in Wazir Dandh area.
The unknown armed persons opened indiscriminate firing on the vehicles. Three crew members of the leading truck bearing registration no. TLK-261 received multiple bullets wounds.
The militants also threw petrol on the two loaded Nato armour vehicles and set them on fire, sources said. After committing , the attack they successfully managed to escaped, sources said.
Got informed the administration and forces officials rushed to the scene, cordoned off the whole area and shifted the injured to the nearest health centre where two of them succumbed to their injuries, sources said.
The deceased were identified as Tariq s/o Jamil of Hangu and Rehman Ali s/o Hasan Gul hailing from Charsadda. The attack took place in a very crowded area of Jamrud, sources said.
It is to be noted that Jamrud area has become very dangerous zone for the Nato truckers because militants often attack them in this area.
