Larkana police arrest three criminals in encounter

LARKANA: Larkana police arrested three criminals, one in injured condition, during an encounter in village Fakir Mohammad Khakhrani within the limits of Rasheed Wagan police station on Wednesday.

On information, a Larkana police party, headed by ASP Tauqeer Naeem, conducted raid in village Fakir Mohammad Khakhrani near here. Seeing police, the criminals opened fire on them, triggering an encounter in which one gangster Sohno, 35, alias Sonu Khakhrani, was arrested in injured condition. The police claimed that the accused was constantly firing at olice with his KK rifle which was also taken into custody. The injured was a notorious bandit, according to ASP. He was wanted to police in over 15 cases of murder, kidnapping, robberies and extortion.

ASP further told media that two criminals were also arrested and weapons recovered from them, while one other escaped. The injured was shifted to Casualty of the Chandka Medical College Hospital here in police mobile.

The villagers alleged that police also put on fire their two houses and beat womenfolk but ASP said that they had destroyed criminals’ hideouts from where they were operating since very long due to which peace loving people suffered badly.

SSP Larkana Kamran Nawaz told in a press conference held in his office that the names of two arrested criminals are Manzoor Khakhrani and Raashid Khakhrani, and several cases are registered against them of same nature. He said that few days ago a bike was snatched and footprints of the criminals also went to the same area where this encounter has taken place today.
