Lawyers in Larkana observe strike against attack on advocate

LARKANA: On the call by Sindh Bar Council, the lawyers fraternity belonging to Larkana and Kambar-Shahdadkot district boycotted their duties and observed a strike here on Thursday against an attack over the office of senior advocate Shamsuddin Abbasi.

His office was ransacked and his employee manhandled by two unknown accused Wednesday, who also threatened him of dire consequences. High Court Bar Association & District Bar Association, Larkana, held a joint general body meeting in the High Court Bar room today in which they condemned the incident.

A resolution adopted in the meeting said that the association unanimously condemns the highhandedness of the police with another advocate Qadir Bus Bhatti and demands immediate removal of (OPS) DSP Miro Khan Sub-Inspector Nooruddin Khuhro from his posting.

The general body meeting also condemned the act in which culprits threw letter along with live bullets in the house of yet another lawyer Irshad Ali Chandio. The body resolved that culprits of the above incidents be immediately arrested and brought to justice.

They decided that High Court Bar and District Bar Associations, Larkana, shall observe strike till arrest of the culprits of the above incidents, removal of DSP Miro Khan and fulfilment of the above demands. Copies of the resolution have been sent to SHC Chief Justice at Karachi.
