LB Polls: (Process of LB elections in Sindh and Punjab starts)

ISLAMABAD: The process of filing of nomination papers for local bodies’ (LB) elections in Sindh and Punjab began on Monday which will continue till Thursday.

Scrutiny would be held from September 12 to 17 and last date for filing of appeals against the acceptance or rejection of the nomination papers is September 22.

Last date for withdrawal of nomination papers is October 01. Revised list of candidates would be published on October 02 and polling would be held on October 31.

In Punjab, local government elections will be held in eleven districts in the first phase. The districts are: Lodhran, Vehari, Okara, Pak Pattan, Bahawalpur, Faisalabad, Bhakkar, Lahore, Kasur, Nankana Sahib, Gujrat and Chakwal.

In Sindh, polls would be held in the districts of Khairpur, Sukkur, Ghotki, Larkana, Shikarpur, Qamber Shahdadkot, Jacobabad and Kashmore.
