Islamabad: Leaders of major political parties have welcomed decision of the Prime Minister to accept invitation to participate in the swearing in ceremony of the newly elected Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi.
Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Syed Khurshid Shah said the visit would have positive impact on the region and result in building cordial relations between the two sides.
JUI-F chief Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman said by accepting the invitation, the government has given a clear message that it wants peaceful settlement of all outstanding issues with India, including Kashmir.
President Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Makhdoom Javed Hashmi welcoming the decision said the visit of the Prime Minister is in the interest of the country and there would be progress over the core issues between Pakistan and India.
Awami National Party leader, Ghulam Ahmad Bilour said the Prime Minister has taken a very good decision to participate in the oath taking ceremony of Narendra Modi.
Indian politicians have also welcomed the decision of the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi.
Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said it will mark a new beginning in the relations between India and Pakistan.
Congress Party leader Rashid Alvi said it is an opportunity for both the countries to hold meeting on important issues.
