Leadership change sought to resolve issues facing nation

LAHORE: Ameer, Jamaat-e-Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq has said that a change of leadership was essential for solving the problems of the country and the nation.

He was addressing the prize distribution ceremony of the GI Khan Institute of Science and Technology in Swabi. The JI chief said that every citizen was under heavy debt while the corrupt rulers were enjoying luxuries. Economic and political terrorism was going on alongside militancy.

He said innocent citizens were being gunned down for refusing to pay extortion but the rulers remained silent spectators. Haq said that Allah Almighty had gifted this country with abundant resources and talented youth but the country was far behind many other countries only because the leadership was incompetent and dishonest. If the country got an honest and competent leadership, the people could do wonders, he added.

He said that the JI was not against all feudal lords, it only desires to free the masses from the slavery of influential people. Haq impressed upon the youth to concentrate on acquisition of knowledge and achieve excellence in different fields so that they were able to foil the designs of the enemy sitting in London and Washington who wanted to deprive the Muslims of their civilization and independence. He said that the youth were the biggest asset of the Ummah and its future was linked with them.
