Line of action sought for S-III

KARACHI: Chief Secretary Sindh Mohammad Siddique Memon on Monday asked the Sindh Planning and Development Department to evolve the strategic line of action for the implementation of the Karachi Greater S-III (Sewerage) Project, with the involvement of Karachi-based nation building departments, utility institutions’ and development agencies, including KPT, DHA, Cantonment Boards etc.

He was presiding over a review meeting of Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB)’s projects.

Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development Ayaz Ali Khan, Secretary Finance Sohail Rajput, Director General Environment Protection Agency (EPA), M.D KWSB Misbah-uddin Fareed and others were also present.

Memon directed the Industries Department to approach the different industrialists associations of the metropolis to fulfil their commitments for constructing the Combined Effluent Treatment Plants (CETPs) in their respective areas.

He also emphasized upon submitting the PC-1 of the project, within three days, and also called investigative report on encroachment over the KWSB land by the coming Friday.

He also instructed the M.D KWSB to get the issues of water supply and sewerage resolved exigently.
