Local taxes staff removes another 719 signage

KARACHI: Local Taxes (Advertisement) Department of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation in its campaign against defaulted signage removed another 16 hoardings, 3 pylon and 700 banners from different areas of the city during last week.

The signage removed include 16 advertisement boards from Rashid Minhas Road, Shaheed-e-Millat Road, Shahra-e-Quaideen, Expressway and Sher Shah Suri Road and 3 pylon from Sher Shah Suri Road. A total of 700 defaulted banners were also removed from different locations in the city by local taxes staff.

This may be noted that the local taxes department following the directive of the KMC administrator initiated action against defaulted signage in the city on 1st August and removed about 97 different signage in the first three days of the drive and the others were removed between 4th and 8th August.

The department has so far detached 816 signboards due to non-payment of the advertisement tax.
