Locomotive catches fire near Jacobabad

Jacobabad, Sindh: The engine of Sukkur Express coming here from Karachi caught fire near here on Tuesday.

Rescue sources said the lower part of the locomotive caught fire some 12 kilometers from here. The train was stopped at Adam Khan railway station and brought to Jacobabad through another engine.

Rescue sources said a bullet fired from nearby area hit the lower part of the engine and it caught fire.

It is pertinent to mention here that several incidents of fire in railway engines and bogies have been reported here, but no culprit arrested and all inquiries by the railway officials fruitless.
