Low price stalls to be set in markets

KARACHI: Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui has said that the provision of relief to common men was going to be started before Ramazan under which special stalls of fresh fruits and vegetables at the Sabzi Mandi prices would be set in all the fair price markets, two in each.

He said this while presiding a meeting regarding this at his office. Additional Commissioner Karachi Haji Ahmed, Chairman Karachi Fresh Fruit Welfare Association Zahid Awan, Assistant Director Bureau of Supplies and Prices Nudratullah and other relevant officers were also present on the occasion.

The meeting decided that the places for the fresh fruits and vegetables stalls by Karachi Fresh Fruit and Sabzi Welfare Association (KFFSWA) would be provided free of cost by Bureau of Supplies and Prices in all the fair price markets. While, keeping in view the expected crowd of people the stalls would be set on a bigger place so that people could easily buy fruits and vegetables.

It was also decided in the meeting that in every fair price market two stalls would be set by KFFSWA. Haji Ahmed said that during Ramazan more steps would be taken to provide relief to the citizens.

The relevant assistant commissioner would supervise the stalls, while banners would be displayed on the stalls for the ease of the people, he said.
