Malir Companion wins in Shareef Khan Memorial Cricket Tourney

Karachi: Malir Companion defeated Al-Hadid Cricket Club by 14 runs in All Karachi Shareef Khan Memorial Festival Cricket Tournament here at Quaid-e-Azam Park Cricket Stadium in Steel town.

Malir Companion won the toss and decided to bat first. The team scored 211-9 in allotted 35 overs. Osama Mir batted well for the side scoring 64 off 74 balls. All-rounder Rafay Ahmed contributed 36 off only 17 balls. Off spinner Nadeem Abbasi captured 3-33.

In reply, Al Hadid CC players were all bundled out for 197 runs in 34.3 overs. Shoaib Shakeel top scored for the side with 59 runs. Medium pacer Sher Ali claimed 3-23 while Umer Khan (2-34), Rafay Ahmed (2-36) and Mohammad Yaqoob (2-14) also bowled well for the winning team. Rafay Ahmed was declared man of the match.
