Man gets seven-year term in illegal weapon case

Karachi: An Anti-Terrorism court-IX (ATC-IX) on Thursday awarded seven years imprisonment to accused, Rehan, in illegal weapon possession case. Police produced the accused before the ATC-IX judge under tight security.

ATC-IX Judge pronounced the verdict after recording the evidence & statements of witnesses and hearing the arguments from both sides. The court also imposed a fine of Rs50,000. The convict will have to undergo an additional six-month imprisonment if he fails to pay the fine.

According to the prosecution, the accused was involved in illegal weopon possession case within the jurisdiction of Baghdai police station.
