ISLAMABAD: The participants of the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Saturday night moved forward Prime Minister House amid teargas shelling and aerial firing by police. Several protesters, including women and children, were reported injured and affected due to massive teargas shelling. The women and children were weeping amid tense situation.
The PAT participants followed by PTI protesters started moving towards Prime Minister House around 10:00 pm. The PAT protesters removed some containers with a crane and succeeded to march towards Prime Minister House. The PAT participants of Revolution March were armed with batons. The PTI participants of Independence March also moved from rear side of the PAT March as Tahirul Qadri asked them to follow us.
Earlier PAT chief made a fiery speech by weeping and directed their participants to proceed towards Prime Minister House but with full peace. He said that barbarism in the country had risen to its peak, therefore, it was the need of the hour to bring revolution.
Initially, the police did not take action and moved back but later took action by conducting teargas shelling and opening aerial firing.
The participants of both marches started moving towards Prime Minister House after PAT Chief Dr Tahirul Qadri and PTI Chairman Imran Khan directed them to go ahead.
PTI Chairman also announced to join PAT marchers. Heavy contingents of police and security forces were deployed in the Red Zone of the federal capital to avert any untoward incident. The federal government said that there would be no compromise on the security of Red Zone.
