Mass Cleaning drive started in KP

Peshawar: Khyber Pukhtunkhwa government has started   mass cleaning drive in provincial capital, which will  continue in coming  two months.

Minister for Local government and rural development, Inayatullah Khan while talking in “Guest Hour program” of Peshawar Press Club (PPC) on Monday also announced the “waste to energy project” for the district Peshawar which would be established at Badhaber area of Peshawar.

Chief Executive  of Water and Sanitation Company Mohammad Naeem, and other officials were also present on the occasion.

this  two-month long campaign, the minister said that around 20 thousands ton of the waste will be disposed off with  the available resources of the WSSP. He furthered said that the city has been divided into four zones and  each  zone has its staff  and sub offices.

He said the WSSP has so far removed 58 percent of the waste while 42 percent left in the streets and opened spots.

Chief Executive of WSSP  Mohammad Naeem said every in Peshawar  850 to 900 tons of waste is produced adding that to clean the city government has established WSSP.

CEO explained that around 22 kilometer of water supply pipes have been replaced in the capital city  while laboratory has also been established at Hayatabad to test the quality of drinking water
