Minister Agriculture distributes certified seeds among farmers

Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Agriculture, Sardar Ikram-Ullah Khan Ghandapure Thursday said that efforts are being made to provide quality seeds to farmers to get more and more crops production in the province.

Addressing a seed distribution ceremony here at Pakistan Academy for Rural Development (PARD) Peshawar, he said PTI led provincial government intends to facilitate farmers at union council levels to improve the crops production as well as to bring the production at par with other countries of the world.

He said provision of quality and certified seed to farmers is inevitable to get more production, adding that projects would be executed in collaboration with Federal Institute for Seed Certification and Registration (FISCR) to introduce more result oriented seed in the market.

Meanwhile, the Minister distributed 10 kg sacks of certified seeds among the farmers and assured them more cooperation by the government. The Minister appreciated the efforts of Academy for Rural Development Peshawar in research and training in agriculture sector.

It is mentioning here that Academy for Rural Development Peshawar in collaboration with Pir Sabaq Farm Nowshera and FISCR has prepared more than 4000 kilo grams quality seeds that is enough for more than 250 acre of land.
