Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Elementary Education Mohammad Atif Khan has directed the authorities concerned to expedite work on proposed projects of uplift and beautification of Mardan, Sports Complex Mardan, Mardan Model School, uplift of MDA and development of PK-30 and ensure its timely completion in larger interest of the common man.
He issued the directives, while chairing a high level meeting regarding uplift of Mardan District, at Peshawar, on Wednesday. The meeting beside others was attended by the secretary Local Government Jamal-ud-din Shah, Special Secretary Education Atif-ur-Rahman, Additional Secretary Education, Qaiser Alam, Chairman BISE, Mardan, Deputy Commissioner Mardan, DG PDA and authorities concerned of NLC and other relevant sectors.
The meeting was informed that Rs. 500 million would be spent on development of PK-30, Rs. 300 million on uplift of MDA, Rs.220 million on Mardan Model School and Rs.200 million on Sports Complex.
The Minister maintained that each and every penny of public exchequer would be spent on welfare of the masses without any discrimination and preference would be given to the interest of the common man.
He declared that no leniency would be tolerated on implementation of developmental works and there would be no compromise on the quality of work. He added, being sacred trust of the people, judicious use of every penny would be ensured.
Atif said that Mardan would be made a role model district of the province and shortage of funds would not come in its way. He added that work on various projects in different sectors, worth billions of rupees were in the pipeline which on completion would change the fate of the district and the people would witness a positive change in their life.
The Minister directed the district administration and authorities concerned of Mardan district to identify sites for Rs.500 million in PK-30 immediately so as to ensure its timely utilization and people got its benefits, in time he added.
