Islamabad: Minister of State for Housing & Works Barrister Usman Ibrahim has directed National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to investigate the matter of fake allotments and unjust cancellation of plots in Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation (FGEHF).
While taking a serious view of an applicant regarding fake allotments of plots of Railway employees, the Minister referred the case to NAB to investigate it thoroughly.
As per the case contents, in 2004 Railway employees applied for housing scheme Phase-IV when the status of Pakistan railways was not determined and it was being considered under autonomous quota. Later on, its status was declared as Subordinate Office by the Ministry of Railways in 2009.
There is also a Supreme Court judgment (dated 16-04-2012) that Railway employees should be considered in Federal Government serving quota (75%) of Phase IV as per their seniority.
It was agreed that if some plots become available in Phase IV housing scheme then Railway employees would be allotted those plots, otherwise they would be considered according to their seniority in future phases.
Resultantly, seniority lists of Railway employees were prepared in all categories and it was revealed that employees at Sr. No. 6, 7, 9, 16, 261 and 264 were allotted plots in cat –IV before the Supreme Court’s judgment without observing seniority and now the fate of remaining employees would be decided by the Executive Committee of the Housing Foundation.
The Minister referred the above mentioned case to NAB so that corrupt officials would be highlighted and appropriate action would be taken against them who remained involved in these malpractices.
