Minister Finance asks doctors to abreast themselves of latest medical trends

Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Finance, Muzaffar Syed Advocate has asked the doctors to focus on medical research and keep themselves aware of the modern trends of the profession to be able to serve the ailing humanity in an excellent manner.

He was addressing at the oath taking ceremony of the newly elected cabinet of the Grand Doctors Alliance at Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar on Wednesday. Beside others the ceremony was also attended by MPA Shah Faisal Afridi and MS, LRH Dr. Sharif. The minister for finance formally administered oath to the office bearers of the association on the accession.

While addressing the ceremony, the Finance Minister said that that medical profession was a civilized and highly sacred one. He added that intelligent and competent persons were attached to this profession. “ Health experts of the province are skilled and hard working and praiseworthy for their noble services”, he remarked.

Referring to the contribution of LRH, the finance minister admitted that the hospital was accommodating huge burden of patients beside providing efficient services in an emergency like situation. He asked doctors of the hospital to maintain discipline in the institution to further improve quality of services there.

The provincial minister urged the young doctor to get excellence in various disciplines of the medical field to serve humanity in a proper manner. He hoped that the newly elected leadership of the association would strive to solve problems of their community in civilized in a democratic way.

He advised them to avoid undemocratic methods for pressing their problems as it were harmful. Muzaffar Syed assured the doctors that the government would take solid steps for overcoming their problems. He declared that that special attention would be given to solve hostel accommodation problem of the doctors. The minister also asked MS of the hospital to prepare a PC 1 for improvement of the hospital.

Earlier ,Dr, Rizwan, President of the Association demanded steps for construction of a new hostel for doctors and a over head bridge at the premises of the hospital. He also demanded enhancement in stipends of the TMOs and a proper service structure for doctors.
