Minister: (Finance Minister briefs PM over PIAC restructuring)

ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif here on Tuesday.

He informed him about the salient features of new Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) company law which includes job protection of all employees of PIA and to run it on an autonomous corporate model like OGDCL.

He said as per directions of Prime Minister Office, no employee of PIA will be laid off. Finance Minister also apprised the PM that government is totally focussed on rehabilitation of Temporary Displaced Persons who have given sacrifices after successful launch of operation Zarb-e-Azb.

The Prime Minister directed that all resources shall be made available for prompt and honourable rehabilitation of TDPs. Finance Minister informed the Prime Minister that out of Rs 40 billion revenue proposed to be generated through regulatory duty on luxury items, of these Rs 27 billion will be allocated to provinces.
