Minister: (Minister orders thorough investigation of PSM incident)

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Industries and Production Ghulam Murtaza Khan Jatoi took serious notice of the blast that took place in Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM) on Wednesday and ordered a thorough investigation of the unfortunate incident.

He directed the Chief Executive of Pakistan Steel to produce a report within one week. He said that the exact cause of the explosion is still not known and it will be premature to say that the incident happened due to negligence.

While emphasizing industrial precautions and safety protocols, the minister said that the concerned quarters have also been issued notices.

The detailed report is expected to clear any doubts about the causes that led to the unfortunate incident. The minister expressed deep grief and sorrow over the death of Deputy Manager Abdul Hafeez and the two employees who got injured. He said these brave men suffered these losses in the line of duty and deserve utmost respect.
