Minister: (Nation to pay homage to national heroes on Defence Day: Kh Asif)

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Defence Khawaja Mohammad Asif has said that the entire nation will pay homage to the national heroes and demonstrate unity amongst its ranks irrespective of regional and ethnic affinities while celebrating the Defence Day on September 6.

He said this during a meeting in Islamabad with the office holders and representatives of APNS, CPNE and PBA in connection with commemorating the 50th anniversary of 1965 war with India.

Information Minister, Pervaiz Rashid and Minister for States and Frontier Regions, Abdul Qadir Baloch were also present in the meeting.

The Defence Minister said both print and electronic media can play an important role in paying tribute to our martyrs for their countless sacrifices for the defence of the country.

The Minister for Information said operation Zarb-e-Azb is continuation of similar designs by a hidden enemy and we will deal the enemy with the spirit of 1965 war.
