Minister: (National Health Programme being launched in AJK from February)

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister National Health Programme (NHP) is being launched in Azad Jammu and Kashmir from next month.

Addressing a news conference in Muzaffarabad on Thursday, Minister of State for National Health Service Saira Afzal Tarar said one hundred and fifty thousand deserving families would be provided free health care facilities under this programme.

She said public and private hospitals have been included in the National Health Programme wherefrom deserving people would receive free treatment through health cards.

She said after Islamabad this programme is being launched in Muzaffarabad and Kotli in Azad Kashmir and would be extended to other districts of the state.

To a question, she said all the provinces would be included in the programme on equal terms and healthcare facilities would be improved on district level under the programme which will help coordinating the primary healthcare.
