Minister: (Pakistan committed to promoting cultural traditions, peace in world: Rashid)

ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Pervez Rashid Pervez Rashid has said that the government is committed to promoting cultural traditions in Pakistan.

He was addressing the second Silk Route Cultural Forum in Moscow late Monday night. The Minister said that Islam is a religion of peace which teaches us brotherhood and tolerance which are its traditions.

He said that there were Islamic, Buddhist, Christian and Jewish civilization along the Silk Route in 7th century. He said Pakistan owns centuries old civilisations of Harappa, Gandhara and Moenjodaro. He said the area along the Silk Route was the centre of Buddhist, Christianity, Jewish and Islamic civilisation in 7th century.
