Minister: (PML-N to challenge Tribunal verdict in SC: Minister)

ISLAMABAD: Minister for States and Frontier Regions Abdul Qadir Baloch has said that PML-N would challenge the decision of Election Tribunal regarding re-polling in NA-122, in the apex court.

Talking to a news channel on Wednesday, he said Election Tribunal on irregularities of Election Commission staff de-seated Sardar Ayaz Sadiq. He said PML-N respected the verdict of the tribunal but it was legal and constitutional right of the party to seek justice from the superior judiciary.

He was of the view that the tribunal in its verdict did not mention any malpractice on part of Sardar Ayaz Sadiq or his party, rather it specified some irregularities of the staff of the Election Commission.

The Minister said Sardar Ayaz Sadiq or his voters could not be punished for the mistakes or malpractices committed by the ECP’s staff.

To a question, he said armed forces are rendering sacrifices in fight against terrorism. He said, the whole nation is standing behind the army. To another question about Muttahida Qaumi Movement resignations, he hoped that they will withdraw their resignations.
