ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid on Sunday said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan was imposing his point of view on others, despite such mindset had already caused damage to the country.
In an interview, he said democracy was strengthening in the country as the nation showed unity and rejected autocratic mindset. He said recently heads of China, Qatar and Sri Lanka had postponed their scheduled visits to Pakistan due to the prevailing situation caused by PTI’s politics of agitation.
He said people could not be left at the mercy of dictators, terrorists and elements who were imposing their manifesto on others by force. He said PTI’s policies might isolate the country among the comity of nations as Imran Khan was damaging its image by following the path of violence for unconstitutional demands.
The minister said that long marches, sit-ins and politics of agitation caused a major dent to national economy and several world leaders postponed their visits to Pakistan after looking at the situation created by the PTI.
He said sit-ins and terrorism a were keeping Pakistan’s friends and sympathizers away from it as they were avoiding visiting the country in the present circumstances.
He said PTI workers entered the Red Zone of the federal capital and attacked the national symbols like Prime Minister House, Parliament, Pakistan Secretariat and Pakistan Television, creating anarchy and chaos.
To a query regarding Afghanistan President’s recent visit to Pakistan, the minister said that bilateral ties between the two countries would further improve in the years to come.
